Got Violin as a gift after asking where mine was.

1987
Awarded 5 gold stars for playing the Violin in front of the school audience. (FIVE!!!!!!)

Won a music scholarship on the Violin to attend Truro School, Cornwall.

1994
Got first Banjo as a Christmas gift.

1998
Entered 'BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award' with the band 'Jane On Thunder'.
Made it to the finals but did not win.

2000
Entered 'Frodsham Village talent contest' in Cheshire.
Won first place

Entered 'BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award' with the band 'The Black Cat Theory'.
Won first place.

2002
Entered 'USA National Bluegrass Banjo Championships, Winfield, Kansas'.
Won first place.

2007
Taught along side Jools Holland and Courtney Pine in the TV series 'Play It Again',
to teach British stand up comedien Frank Skinner how to play the Banjo.

Daughter Wilhelmina Dowling was born.

Signed for a book publishing and music publishing deal with
